Every pepper is called a pepper (Spanish pronunciation: [pimjento]). In several English languages, it usually has to do with a gigantic red, core-formed pepper (Capsicum annuum), which has lengths of 3 to 4 in (7 to 10 cm) and widths of 2 to 3 in (5 to 7 cm) (medium, elongate).
