In the case of the earth and the constellations the earth rotates, with us on it, from west to east. The constellations appear to move from east to west, moving “backwards” from the real rotation of the earth.
Constellations are stars?
A constellation is a group of stars that looks like a particular shape in the sky and has been given a name. These stars are far away from Earth.
Is it far from other planets?
The planets appear to move relative to the background of the stars, but currently (early May 2020), you will see Venus in the western early evening sky in the constellation Taurus, and in the southeastern sky you can find Mars and Saturn in Capricornus and Jupiter in Sagittarius.
