On the same frequency as a router, a WiFi repeater connects to wireless devices. As a result, your wireless devices will only get half of the available bandwidth. As a result, less bandwidth will be available, resulting in slower connection speeds. WiFi extenders aren’t the same as WiFi repeaters in that they don’t work in the same way.
