Is there an ocean before the ocean?

The Tethys Ocean, also called the Tethys Sea or the Neo-Tethys, was an ocean during the Mesozoic Era and early Cenozoic Era, located between the ancient continents of Gondwana and Laurasia, and before the opening of the Indian and Atlantic oceans during the Cretaceous Period.

That was the name before. The title caught my attention. Ocean before an ocean. This appeared as the first water that created rising levels of the Ocean isn’t it?

Yes that is correct. It is also because of tectonic movements that made the waters larger.
