Marikina City Improvement

Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro signed on Monday, July 11, multilateral memorandums of agreement (MOA) with a manufacturing company and two non-profit organizations (NGOs) for designing and painting murals in selected areas in Marikina City. The agreement is to make the city enhance it’s beauty for locals and tourists.
The signing of agreement was held at Marikina Freedom Park. Organizations who signed were Representatives of the ASEAN Coating Inc, which produces the Rain or Shine brand of paint, the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) Marikina Valley Chapter, and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce Inc. (PCCI) New Marikina Chapter.
Among the signatories of the MOA were Edison Orbiana, the business development head of Rain Or Shine, Engr. Noel Flores, the president of the PCCI, and Aleli De Jesus, the president of the PCA
Murals will be painted through MOA at UBB Barangka, specifically the residential area along Marcos Highway, and in Barangay Sta. Elena at the commercial establishment along Shoe Avenue that spans V. Gomez to Chanyungco Streets.
One of those selected is the commercial establishment located in NGI Parang was also selected as a spot for the mural design.
The local government said the project will help form and craft aesthetics that showcases the life and vibrancy of the city.
We are not simply painting these places. They will be painted to create “aesthetics” that are significant to the city, reflect the city and the citizens’ character, as well as show the city’s care for the environment, the government said.
