Hippopotamuses
Hippopotamuses adore water, which is why the Greeks dubbed them “river horses.” Hippos can spend up to 16 hours a day immersed in rivers and lakes to keep their gigantic bodies cool in the scorching African sun. Hippos are excellent swimmers and can hold their breath for up to five minutes underwater.
