Scientists believe Earth’s next ocean could form in the East African Rift Zone, where a rising plume of searing hot rocks is slowly forcing apart a swath of land along the continent’s eastern coast, explains Cynthia Ebinger, a geophysicist at Tulane University who has conducted extensive research in the region.
That is interesting. Since it is warm in that area with hot rocks that can separate some land, would that mean the waters will also be warm? Or more warmer than Indian Ocean?
The East African Rift system made up the western and eastern continental rifts, and stretches from the Afar region of Ethiopia down to Mozambique. The precipitation intensity is high in Africa and it is a hot continent. It might beat the warm temperature of Indian Ocean.
Interesting. Perhaps it would be warmer. Though I won’t be able to witness that. It would happen 50 million years from now right? Scientists are good at researching for long term results.
Yes that is how good the scientists are with advance research and also for us to know any upcoming calamities or tragedy that might come. That would happen million years from now and that is the estimate.
