As the first tortillas of corn were manufactured, it was soon after the Spanish Conquistadors had discovered the Aztec Empire in Central Mexico that knowledge of this strange new bread went. It wasn’t long until wheat from Spain was brought into the New World, and tortillas of flour were developed.
