Gonpei Yokoi worked for Nintendo for several years, including as a janitor and an assembly line worker. A Game Boy prototype attracted the Nintendo president’s interest as an extendible arm device. After his Virtual Boy flopped in 1996, he quit and was eventually killed in a vehicle accident.
